Phil Smith
Phil Smith, Industrial Coordinator, joined Central Tech in 2007. Before coming to Central Tech, Smith was in the financial sector working with agricultural and small business loans as well as investments with a Series 6 and 63 licenses. Smith also worked at a large State of Oklahoma Agency as a Business Manager II and Certified Procurement Officer.
Smith works with the BIS Staff, scheduling and coordinating OSHA required safety training as well as specialized safety training such as confined space rescue, trenching & shoring, HAZWHOPER, and driver safety. In addition Smith works with area companies finding assistance through special state funding opportunities such as “TIP” or “Existing Industry”. These state dollars help area business stay competitive in the current economy and world market. Among other duties Smith is involved with the night welding and machining programs.

Certifications and Professional Affiliations:
- BISCP (Certified Business and Industry Coordinator) and CPP (Certified Program Planner) in both Contract Training and Program Management
- OSHA Certifications to instruct Occupational Safety and Health Standards for both General Industry and Construction through the Texas Engineering Extension service as a part of the Texas A&M University System
- Several other safety training certifications such as instructor for 40 Hour HAZWHOPER and AAA Driver Improvement Program.
